5 Resorts Celebrating Global Wellness Day 2025 in the Maldives

As we step into the month of June, many in the Maldives are getting ready to mark Global Wellness Day (GWD).

Celebrated on the second Saturday of June, with this year’s festivities falling on June 14, the day is an opportunity to take a pause and reflect on how we can nurture better and healthier lives.

What began as a social project in Turkey thirteen years ago has since grown into a global movement involving tens of thousands of people. Take a look at how some of the leading resorts in the Maldives are marking the day with unique and holistic programmes.

  1. Menopause Retreat at Oblu Xperience Ailafushi
The wellness-focused resort is launching a dedicated retreat for women taking place from June 5 to 9. Curated by the award-winning wellness brand ELE|NA, the programme incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine with Neuro-linguistic Programming in order to provide a holistic and personalised experience for their guests. The retreat aims to create a peaceful and comfortable sanctuary where this transformative journey in a woman’s life can be celebrated.

From June 14 to 18, Rajni will bring her signature blend of flow and vitality to the resort with a water-based wellness programme. Guests with different fitness experiences, from beginners to athletes, can take part in high-intensity aqua kickboxing in the largest pool in the Maldives. Guided nature walks, beachside body scrubs, sunrise Pilates sessions, and a family HIIT session are some of the other revitalising and relaxing experiences taking place during this wellness weekend.

Gentle movement and mindful moments are at the heart of the GWD activities at Hideaway Beach Resort & Spa. From June 14 to 19, the programme will begin every day at sunrise with a Qigong movement and meditation session– a Chinese practice based on intentional movement and controlled breathing. The programme continues with an indoor golf experience to stimulate the mind, followed by a water sports competition to challenge the body. Healthy cooking classes and nutritious dining options round off the wellness activities.
